A very elegant walk. Did you stack the stones?
Many thanks. No, I’ve learned that the stones started to appear quite mysteriously and increased in number along the whole stretch of the river. Eventually revealed that a couple of (independent) artists were behind it: http://www.edinburghspotlight.com/2015/06/balanced-stones-on-the-water-of-leith/ (thanks to @xanabe for the info).

I think I’ve done that walk in 2 parts on 2 separate occasions. Isn’t there a small rotunda along the way?

Lovely post. I remember doing this walk many years ago. No balanced stones then, nor a heron as I recall. I love the metal eating tree.
