When the inside becomes the outside
New Town, Edinburgh*
(*Intrigued by this one. You can still see plenty of bricked up window spaces in Edinburgh New Town, often attributed to window taxes imposed in the 1700s, although see comment from Calum Storie below. This one looks like a cast has been taken, delineating the fan light and window frames. The inside reversed to the outside. Shades of Rachel Whiteread?)

The city as poet, as rhetorician. Wonderful!

I especially like ‘WIRELESS’. On the windows point – it’s not always true…false windows are often there for aesthetic reasons…to preserve the ‘integrity’ of the facade but where windows would not match up with interiors.
Thanks Calum- and for the point about the windows. It’s quite common to see these ‘false’ windows in Edinburgh but this was the first one I’d noticed with this type and level of aesthetic detail. Now I’ve noticed one, I’m sure I’ll start to see many others as is often the way with these things!
